Derde Kerstdagloop Arnhem

About the race

The Derde Kerstdagloop sets off from the Valkenhuizen sports centre in Arnhem and offers 7, 14 and 21.1 kilometres. The half marathon is a single lap that runs about ninety percent on car-free paved cycle paths through the woods and heathland of Het Gelders Landschap and Natuurmonumenten, with 185 metres of elevation change and a three-hour time limit. The 14 kilometres covers more than half its length on unpaved paths, with long straight avenues that invite a fast pace followed by solid climbs through the forest. The 7 kilometres starts flat and dives into the woods of De Bredenberg after two kilometres, where it becomes a matter of climbing, descending and turning. The longer distances have drink stations along the way; the finish offers changing rooms, showers and free supervised bag storage.
