De Tien van 't Aogje runs through Princenhage, the old village on the west side of Breda known locally as 't Aogje. Everything turns on a single lap of 2.5 kilometres from the Haagsemarkt: those running the 5 kilometres cover it twice, those running the 10 kilometres four times. That layout makes the course fast and easy to read, with few corners and spectators you meet again every lap. The afternoon opens with the 5 kilometres, the 10 follows, and a family run for children and parents closes it. With some seven hundred participants the whole thing stays village-sized, with the market square as the centre for start, finish and prize-giving.
