About the race

Damme-Brugge-Damme sets off from De Blauwe Zaal in Sint-Kruis and heads into the polders between Bruges and Damme. There are four events: a one-kilometre kids run, 6 kilometres, 10 kilometres and the half marathon. The routes follow the Damse Vaart and the Zuidervaartje through the Damse Polders; on the ten and the half marathon you also pass through the historic centre of Damme. It does not get flatter than this in Flanders, so anyone chasing a time is in the right place — with the caveat that a polder dyke along a straight canal offers little shelter when the wind is up. Chip timing, refreshments and a single central finish area keep the whole thing easy to follow.
