Castle Trail Bouillon is Trailrun.be's winter trail in Bouillon, with start and finish on the esplanade in front of the castle. The race uses the Semois valley and surrounding heights for technical courses of 20.47 km, 34.89 km and 51.61 km, with plenty of climbing and winter trail conditions. The longest distance rightly carries an ultra label, helped by the UTMB 50K index, mandatory headlamp use and the semi-autonomous setup. The organisation works without disposable cups, with clear aid stations, a GPX recommendation and distance-specific equipment rules. Castle Trail Bouillon is therefore a characterful choice for runners who want to combine a historic start location with mud, views and serious Ardennes elevation.
