Brugse Ekiden is a team relay marathon on the athletics track at Sport Vlaanderen Brugge. Teams of up to six runners cover 42 kilometres together, split into twenty laps of 2.1 km, with the start, finish and exchange zone all on the same track. Unlike a classic ekiden, the order is not completely fixed: teams may divide the laps themselves, so friends, families and colleagues can choose their own tactics. AC Sodibrug organises the event with the City of Bruges and Sport Vlaanderen, and the compact venue makes it easy to follow and support teammates. Brugse Ekiden is especially suited to runners who want to experience the marathon distance as a team in a clear, lively setting.
