The Blauwbuik Trail sets off at the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Hemelvaart church in the middle of Eksaarde and from there seeks out unpaved ground wherever it can. What gives this trail its own character are the private estates that open for this race alone — stretches of land you may not run on any other day of the year. There are three distances of 6, 10 and 16 kilometres, starting in reverse order in the late afternoon so that the field comes in roughly together. Along the way, entertainment acts stand out among the fields. At the distances it offers, this is a trail that works both for beginners and for a fast evening effort.
