Biathlon Herve combines cross-country running with shooting in the Pays de Herve. The two distances, 5 and 10 kilometres, both set off at nine in the morning, so the difference lies not in the start time but in how often you have to switch from running hard to standing still and aiming. That is exactly what sets a biathlon apart from an ordinary cross: you have to get your heart rate under control at the moment it is highest. Entry is open at any age, and anyone who has not signed up in advance can still try on the day for a surcharge, while places last. Children have a Kids Run of their own.
