The Ambiorix Run is held on Whit Monday from the Plinius park in Tongeren and sets three clearly different races side by side. The 5 kilometres stays relatively flat and plays out largely inside the park itself; you may enter from the age of ten. The 10 kilometres heads out onto the undulating roads between Mulken and Piringen and has a lower limit of twelve. The longest distance is not a half marathon but the Caesar Trail: nineteen kilometres of which sixty per cent is unpaved, with two hundred metres of climbing through Mulken, Overrepen and Jesseren. So on the same morning you can choose between a flat park race and a genuine trail.
