The Vunderkeloop is Macharen's race within the Maasland Run Classics and is organised by AV Oss '78. On Friday 12 June 2026, start and finish are on Hoogstraat 5 in Macharen. The programme is compact and clear: young runners race 750 metres at 19:00 and 1500 metres at 19:15, before the senior 5 km and 10 km start together at 19:30. That gives the evening the feel of a true village race, with space for young runners first and two classic road distances for recreational and competitive runners afterwards. The Vunderkeloop does not rely on a grand backdrop, but on a recognisable formula: paved running in Macharen, a straightforward organisation and a place in a regional circuit where many runners meet each other more than once.
