The Vunderkeloop is the Macharen round of the Maasland Run Classics, a circuit of eight road races in and around Oss, organised by AV Oss '78. Start and finish are on the Hoogstraat in Macharen. The evening opens with the youth races — 750 metres for ages five to eight, 1500 metres for nine to twelve — after which the 5 and 10 kilometres set off together. The entry fee is low and late entry stays open until half an hour before the start. On the 10 kilometres there is a cash bonus for anyone who beats the course record of 31.02 minutes. It is a village race without a grand setting, but with a recognisable format and a fixed place in a circuit where runners keep meeting one another all season.
