The Trail des Grottes de Han sets off from the playing field of the Domaine des Grottes in Han-sur-Lesse and offers five distances: 7 kilometres with 151 metres of climbing, 14.7 with 445, 21 with 540, 30.8 with 769 and 42 kilometres with 1004. The course runs over forest paths and singletrack across the Ardennes relief around the village, but the section everyone remembers is underground: roughly 1.4 kilometres straight through the caves, and that on all five distances. The start times run backwards, from half past three in the afternoon for the 42 kilometres to half past six for the 7, so the field converges at the finish towards evening.
