About the race

The Trail de l'Abbaye de Floreffe starts and finishes at the top of the abbey site on the Rue du Séminaire, with four distances that rise neatly: 9 kilometres with 165 metres of climbing, 17 with 350, 24 with 450 and 37 with 730. The organisers draw a clear distinction themselves: the nine kilometres is not sold as a trail but as a nature course, eighty percent of it on paths. The two longest routes do carry an ITRA rating, ITRA 1 and ITRA 2 respectively. The starts fall between nine and ten, from long to short. What sets the day apart is the place: you leave from and return to a medieval abbey looking out over the Sambre valley.
