The Monumentenrun is an evening race through the centre of Sint-Truiden, starting on the Grote Markt and finishing on the Groenmarkt next to it. The course passes the monuments and buildings that give the town its face, and because darkness falls while you run, you see them differently from by day. The programme runs from early to late: first the Sprookjesrun of 800 metres for the youngest and the Kidsrun of a kilometre and a half, then the 15 kilometres, the 10, and finally a 6 kilometre fun run with the same distance for walkers right behind it. There is entertainment along the way. The event is organised by Keep on Running together with the city.
