Mons'Trail sets off from Havré, a district of Mons, and heads onto rough ground straight from the edge of town. There are three distances: 7 kilometres with 80 metres of climbing, 14 with 220 and 30 with 350. That ratio is worth pointing out, because per kilometre the thirty is actually the flattest of the three: it is a long trail, not a hard one. The course mixes woodland, country lanes and narrower paths, which keeps the short distance accessible while the longer ones come down to rhythm and endurance. The starts fall between nine and ten in the morning, so the whole field is out at roughly the same time.
