The Kluisberg Trail sets off from the Kluisbos recreation area and heads into the hills around the Kluisberg, on the border of East Flanders and Hainaut. There are four distances, rising neatly in difficulty: 11 kilometres with 400 metres of climbing, 17 kilometres with 540, 26 kilometres with 740 and 35 kilometres with 950. The organisers themselves label the course as not very technical, meaning it is mostly about climbing and descending rather than awkward footing. The longer distances have two aid stations, the 17 kilometres one. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so waiting does not pay off here.
