The Belgian Front Memorial Trail follows the First World War front line across the Westhoek and finishes on the Grote Markt in Diksmuide. The Long Way of 100.9 kilometres sets off at seven from Peace Village in Mesen and passes the Palingbeek, Polygon Wood, the Passchendaele Memorial Gardens by Tyne Cot Cemetery, the marshland of De Blankaart and then the Yser Tower and the Viconia clay pits. The half marathon of 21 kilometres starts at one o'clock on the market square in Diksmuide itself, and there is a Short Run of 5 kilometres. The long distance can be run solo or as a team.
