Aalst Loopt is the street race of the Limburg village of Aalst, part of the municipality of Sint-Truiden — not to be confused with the city of the same name in East Flanders, which has races of its own. Start and finish are on the Erberstraat by Sporting Aalst. There are two distances: 5 kilometres and a long loop of about 10.5. Beyond that the set-up is that of a village race without fuss: a road course, no trail profile, no city festival around it. The organisation lies with Beerrunners Sint-Truiden together with Sporting Aalst, which explains why the whole thing feels more like a club appointment than an event meant to draw runners from far away.
