The 5 et 10 km de l'UMons is the race of the university of Mons, starting on the Avenue des Bassins. It is deliberately kept small: there are four hundred places per distance and no more. The 5 kilometres opens the morning, the 10 follows an hour later. Entry is open at any age, so alongside students and staff there are runners from the city on the start line. Anyone who does not sign up in time can still try on the day, as long as places remain and at a surcharge. The course stays urban and flat, aimed at a quick time rather than at the scenery.
