Adults choose between 5 and 10 kilometres, which set off together; before that the children run their own distances of 625 metres and 1.25 kilometres. The field is capped at six hundred runners, which keeps the whole thing manageable. The race forms part of the MaaslandRunClassics, a circuit in which several races from the region together make up a standings table. With an entry fee of seven euros for the main distances and one euro for the youth, the threshold stays deliberately low.
